Saturday, Oct. 14th. District Marching Contest FWB H.S.
Itinerary for the District Marching Festival Saturday, Oct. 14th. 2023
9:45am - Call time- Please make sure that you get your equipment and be in then stadium. We need everyone, please do not be late.
10:00am - 11:30am Rehearsal in the stadium.
11:30am - 1:00pm Snack, Pack and Load. All Chaperones should be at concessions.
We will travel over bibbers down. You WILL need your show shirt.
1:00pm - 1:15pm Final equipment checks and load the buses.
1:15pm - 2:00pm Travel to Ft. Walton Beach H.S.
2:15pm - 3:15pm Watch other bands perform. Leave the stadlum after Jay H.S.
3:15pm - 3:50pm Unload, dress, ready for warm-up.
3:50pm - 4:00pm Travel to Warm-Up are "A"
4:00pm - 4:30pm Warm-Up
4:30pm 4:40pm Travel to gate.
4:45pm - 5:00pm Perform
5:00pm - 5:45pm Reload equipment, change into Khakis and Band T-Shirts, then go to stadium to watch bands.
Our meal deals may be purchased here, and will be available once we return to the stadium.
7:30pm - 8:00pm - Contest is over.
Lastly, students are expected to stay the entire day with the group. If, however, you do plan to pick up your student prior to the end of the contest, there is a process that parents must follow.
1st. Parents should send in a letter requesting that the student be released early the day prior. Ex. Thursday for a Friday game, or Friday for a Saturday performance. Please, place letters in the black box.
2nd. On the day of the performance, parents may meet the head chaperone of the student's bus to check them out. Please do not leave until you have spoken with a chaperone. Students are not released to anyone other than their parents. Siblings, friends, or anyone else is not allowed.
In general, staying with the group is the best plan, except in extreme circumstances.
We want parents cheering us on at our contest performances. Your cheers inspire us to do our best! Additionally, parents are not allowed to sit with the students, and our students are not to leave our designated seating area to sit with parents.
I am aware that the whole process may seem a bit drawn out, but all of the steps are there to ensure our members' safety. I hope you understand.
