PERCUSSION

​Percussion is the most demanding musical discipline and requires its members to master many different instruments. During percussion audition camp, students are allowed to play all of the various instruments used in the performance of our marching band show to include mallet/keyboards and snare drum, and everything in between. 

Following the evaluation from our director and staff, students are assigned to play the instrument that offers them the best opportunity for individual success based on their skill set. First-year students are sometimes disappointed in their placement, but they should remember that the skill set needed for success at the high school level is above the level required at the middle school level. The staff and I will do everything in our power to help the student build their skills so that they may advance to the level they want while a member of the band.

 Band camp is when we will work with everyone to put on our halftime show.
Therefore, it is an expectation that students will attend all scheduled camps, for the entire scheduled time.
