The Raider Band uses two different uniforms during marching band season:
Uniform Day
Uniform day is a one-day event during which ALL members of the band will order or purchase each of the items required for the Warm-Weather (Summer) Marching Uniform and Formal Dress Marching Uniforms. This day will also include formal band pictures.
Parent Preview and Cookout
Our annual parent preview and cookout is a chance to for our students to show off all they have learned during band camp. It is also a chance for parents to sign up for volunteer opportunities, familiarize themselves with our Booster Club information, purchase band polos or t-shirts and more. This is a very important day; make sure to put it on your calendar as soon as the date is made available!
SPECIAL NOTE: This will be the only day that the band orders polos and t-shirts. That includes polos and t-shirts for parents, boosters, and fans as well.
Uniforms
Warm-Weather (Summer) Marching Uniform
The band uses the warm-weather uniform during the heat of August and September. This uniform may change from year to year, if necessary. Students must purchase their own summer uniform and is not part of the Fair Share. The uniform will be paid for and ordered on Uniform Day during summer band camp.
Formal Dress Marching Uniform
Bowie Band Members will be fitted for their formal dress marching uniforms on Uniform Day during summer band camp. Formal dress marching uniforms are provided by AISD (though maintenance and upkeep is supported by Fair Share).
Each student will be issued:
- A warm weather (summer) uniform consisting of Khaki Shorts and a band polo. (Purchased by the student and not part of fair share.)
- A formal dress marching uniform. The formal dress uniform is worn for concerts as well.
