Itinerary for the week of August 20th., - 24th.

Monday, Aug. 20th.
3:45 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. - Horns and Percussion Rehearsal.
4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. -  Band Picture Proof Viewing - In the gym hallway next to the band room.
5:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. - Color Guard Rehearsal. 

Tuesday, Aug. 21st. 
3:45 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. - Full Band Rehearsal - Includes Horns, Percussion, and Color Guard.
4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. -  Band Picture Proof Viewing - In the gym hallway next to the band room.

Wednesday, Aug. 22nd. 
The Band Hall is Closed!

Thursday, Aug. 23rd. 
3:45 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. - Full Band Rehearsal - Includes Horns, Percussion, and Color Guard.

Friday, Aug. 24th. - Game Day!!!

Parents may sign-up to Volunteer or Drive the Equipment Truck here. 

This week's pre-game meal will be from Chick-Fil-A. All orders must be completed by Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. because we have to give the order to CFA on Thursday morning. 

Please visit our online store to order and pay for your meal by Wednesday evening. 

Students should wear the following on game day:

During the school day - If our new band T-shirts are in, we will wear those to school. Don't forget it's crazy sock day too. 

For the game - Students will wear our travel uniform consisting of Khaki Shorts, Band Polos, Short Black Socks, and Black Band Shoes. 

The Color Guard will decide on their travel uniform during class. 

Game Day Schedule: 

3:45 p.m. - 4:15 p.m. - Rehearsal
4:00 p.m. - 4:15 p.m. - Chaperones and Van arrive. 
4:15 p.m. - 5:15 p.m. - Load equipment and buses.
5:15 p.m. - 6:15 p.m. - Travel to Catholic H.S. 
6:15 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. - Unload equipment, Eat Dinner, Ready for inspection and warm-up.
7:10 p.m. - March into the stadium.
7:30 p.m. - Kick-Off
10:30 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. - Return back to NHS.


A Remind group text will be sent out when we are 30 minutes from the school.Students are released as soon as they are finished putting away uniforms and equipment. Students should be ready for pick-up no later than 30 minutes following our arrival back to the school.

Don't forget to bring the following:
  • Your instrument
  • Blacks and Whites
  • Tennis Shoes
  • Black Three-Ring Binder with all music in sheet protectors
  • A pencil
  • Drill DOT Book, with all the drill you have notated
  • Green Book with all music notated
  • Snacks for after school

Monday 
3:45 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. - Band Practice 

Tueaday
3:45 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. - Band Practice
7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. - Band Parent Meeting (Please have at least one parent attend)

Wednesday
The band hall is closed

Thursday
3:45 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. - Band Practice

Friday - GAME DAY!!!

Game Day Schedule:

Immediately after school, any student who drives to campus should move their vehicle to a grassy area. 

3:45 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. - Rehearsal 

4:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. - Put Water+Equipment In Stadium/Dinner in the Stadium/Relax/Dress

5:30 p.m. - 5:45 p.m. - Ready for inspection - Memorial Garden

5:45 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. - Sectionals/Tuning

6:00 p.m. - 6:25 p.m.  - Full Ensemble Warm-Up

6:25 p.m. - 6:45 p.m. - Line Up/March into Stadium via North Entrance/Post at North End Zone

6:45 p.m. -6:50 p.m. - Pre-Game - March on to the field and play two tunes.

6:50 p.m. - 6:55 p.m. - ROTC takes the field/National Anthem followed by the team entering and fight song. 

6:55 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. - Football Captain's meeting Band to the stands.

7:00 p.m. - Kick-Off

10:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m. - Game Over, Return to Band Hall and clean.

Teacher Pre-Planning

This week the band hall is closed, there will be no full band rehearsals. There may be times when the band hall will be open for informal sectionals if students are wanting to come to practice for a while. These sessions will be called by staff members, and there will be an adult with the students at all times.

While we are officially closed to rehearsals, there will be several opportunities to volunteer at the band hall this week. As you may know, we are reorganizing the storage areas in the band hall by moving our storage lockers. This is a big undertaking, and we could you some more help on Monday and Tuesday. If you can help, please come at 1 p.m. We hope to get everything done by 5 p.m. Anything not completed, will roll over to Tuesday at the same time.

Additionally, on Wednesday, there will be a concession stand clean out and scrub down. If you missed the email from concessions chair, Tina Greene, I have included it here: ​​
​Hello Band Fam,

We have a volunteer opportunity coming up on Wednesday August 8th at NHS Concessions.  Every Marching (Football) season we have to set up our equipment before the first big game. This involves a little bit of heavy lifting, organizing and cleaning in in our stands so we can be ready. I hope to see a lot of new faces this year.

We will start at 9 am in the front of the main concession stand and hopefully be completed by 12-1 pm. We will have gloves and cleaning supplies. Also, I would say dress like you areabout to do some yard work and bring water.

Monday - 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. - Complete band locker reorganization. We hope to finish on this day...
Tuesday - 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. - Wrapping up anything we did not finish. Hopefully, we will not have to have anything on Tuesday. 

Now that the lockers have been moved, we have to reattach them to the walls. There are a few things that we will need to do to accomplish this. 
  • Remove excess carpet under cabinets
  • Clean and Vacuum the areas
  • Anchor the cabinets to the walls and to one another
If you are able to come help, the following items will help making the process go faster. 
  • Drills for attaching the cabinets together. 
  • Hammer Drills for attaching the cabinets to the walls. 
  • Shop Vacs
  • Extra cords
