Hey everyone,

I wanted to share the great news that we had another fantastic weekend! I am incredibly proud of the amazing progress our students made this past Saturday at the district marching MPA. They continue to improve with every performance, and it's a joy to watch them take the field. Although we still have a long way to go, with three regular-season games, a marching exhibition, and another contest coming up, I know our students are more than capable of rising to the challenge.

I want to give a huge shoutout to our parent volunteers who work tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure our students, staff, and I have everything we need. They are the backbone of the band, and we couldn't do it without them. I also want to express my gratitude to our staff for their outstanding contributions to our success. You guys are amazing, and we're lucky to have you working with our students.

And last but not least, a massive thank you to our members for their hard work and dedication. You guys are the best, and it's an absolute honor to be your band director. I love your energy, your willingness to learn, and your work ethic.

Let's keep up the momentum and finish the remainder of the marching season strong!

Remember, "finis coronat opus" - the end crowns the work!

We had a great time in A-Town!

We are thrilled to announce that our students, staff, and parent volunteers did an incredible job at the contest in Andalusia last Saturday. Congratulations to everyone who contributed to this outstanding performance.

This week, we are back to our regular schedule with rehearsals on Tuesday and Thursday, an away game at Milton HS on Friday, and District Marching Festival at Ft. Walton Beach H.S. on Saturday. We cannot emphasize enough how important it is for our students to attend all rehearsals and performances.

Wow, what a tremendous mini-camp weekend! The weather was perfect, and the kids worked so hard. The food was fantastic, too! Thanks again to our members, staff, and parent volunteers for making our annual mini camp, parent preview, and family cookout successful.

If you have any pics or videos of the parent preview and cookout you would like to share. Please, follow this link to share them with me.

This Friday is an open date with no game, which is perfect because we have our Fall BBQ plate sale on Saturday, the 30th. Ensure you have sold all of your tickets. Each student was requested to sell eight BBQ plate tickets. The tickets are easy to sell as the Navarre community supports this event. Please make sure to sign up for a volunteer shift on Saturday as well. Ms. Janet will post more about volunteer opportunities for students and parents.

Last week was an absolute success for us, even though we had to battle some weather-related issues. Despite that, we managed to get a lot done, and the band looked fantastic on Friday night!

This week, we won't be travelling to an away game. Instead, we'll be having a rehearsal on Friday night from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and mini camp on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Our annual mini camp is when we put the finishing touches on our show for the upcoming competition season. Speaking of which, the competition season starts on Oct. 7th in Andalusia, AL, and we're more than ready for it! Parents, Saturday will be a great time to get plugged in! There will be crews there working on props, sound equipment and front ensemble equipment. Please, come get involved!

One of the highlights of the mini camp will be the parent preview show and cookout. You can expect a post from Janet Bautista soon with all the details, so keep an eye out for that. It's always an incredible event, and we're excited to have everyone there!

We want to remind all the students that they're expected to be present for the entirety of the camps. Missing out on any part of it may put them behind, and that's something we want to avoid. With new drill being taught, it's crucial that everyone is present and focused.

This upcoming week is going to be a busy one for us!

Apart from our regular rehearsals and football game, we have a lot of other events coming up. On Tuesday morning, we will be performing at the grand opening of the new Navarre Wendy's. On Friday night, we will be hosting concessions. And, before the game, we will be celebrating our senior band members.

I want to give a huge shoutout to our band members and parent volunteers for their hard work and dedication to making our band program an honor to be a part of. You guys are amazing, and the staff and I truly appreciate all that you do. Please take a look at the schedule below for the week's events. There are many opportunities for parents to get involved and help out.

Monday - The band hall closes at 3:45 p.m.

Tuesday - 9 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. - All band members will travel to the Wendy's to perform for the Grand Opening. What to wear will be decided in class on Monday.
6:00 - 8:30 p.m. - Full Band Rehearsal in the Stadium.
6:00 - 8:00 p.m. - Senior Mum Workshop #2 in the Virtual Lab inside the Media Center. Please, use the side entrance via the Memorial Garden.

I just wanted to remind everyone that rehearsal starts promptly at 6:00 p.m. It's important that you arrive early enough to gather all of your equipment and be on the field, ready to start at 6:00 p.m. Being late for rehearsal can cause disruptions and we want to make the most of our time together. If you are having transportation issues, remember that you are welcome to stay in the band room on Tuesday afternoons. Thank you for your cooperation and dedication to our band program.

Wednesday - The band hall closes at 3:45 p.m.

Thursday - 4:00 - 6:30 p.m. - On the back practice field.

Friday - Home vs. Tate H.S. and Band Senior Night!!!

Hey parents, as you know this upcoming Friday is a big game as we will be hosting Tate H.S. However, many of our most active parents are parents of senior members and will be unavailable for much of the game. We need volunteers to help out in our concession stands. If you have some time, please come and help us out. We would really appreciate it!

The schedule for Friday afternoon is here.
